It's Been More Than A While

So I've been putting off blogging for the longest time reasoning that not all of our ducks are in a row, therefore the information that I'd be blogging about would be incomplete. But just today I remembered the purpose of this blog: to show our progress (or even regression) step by step, as it happens, thoughts of what should be done... and all that jazz. So, I say all of that to say, no more excuses. I'm just doing it...

So here's what's going on now. My business partner recently returned from New Jersey; she was away for three months. I've had a full time (regular :-/) job for just about four months now. Suffice to say, things have been on hold for a looong time.

Now that my partner is back, though, I hope that we can get this thing started up again, and with as much energy and even more energy than we exerted before. This thing just has to work. IT HAS TO. It's hard to stomach the thought that we've been at this for almost two years.

This dream has to come true for all of us. It's a family affair after all.

A Brief Look in the Past

Today I felt the need to ramble a bit. Not too much I hope. I just find it interesting how far we've come as a business from an idea written on plenty of napkins, receipts, and other types of scrap paper and yet how much we still have yet to accomplish.

It's been a year since we decided on the name of our business (I have this week to renew it with the state). Since I had always envisioned expanding our product line I'm thinking that a new name may be more appropriate. Then I think how we've gained a few fans and loyal customers and wonder how such a change would affect them. My thought is that if all the decisions and changes that we make are intended to serve our customers better then they are good decisions. At the end of the day I have to be content about the decisions that I've made. I just feel that if the best effort was put forth then there is no other option than for things to work out for the better.

Cool Fashion and Cupcakes Go Hand In Hand

Something about Shantel and Sharissa's style caught my eye. I felt the need to share and shout them out. Thanks again ladies for being such good sports! Come back soon!

Ybor City Saturday Market

We are diligently preparing for our full-fledged debut at this weekend's Ybor City Saturday Market in Centennial Park (go here for more info)! We got our canopy, cooler, tables and chairs. We're still thinking about how to set up our booth: what kind of displays, how do our cupcakes look the most irresistible... Soon it'll be time to make the cupcakes (in a drone voice like those Dunkin' Donuts commercials from back in the day). So far we are thinking Sweet Potato Sweetie Pies, Triple Chocolate, Coconut, Chai and Vanilla cupcakes. We don't know exactly how many people to expect but we would love to be able to sell out, so maybe we will only make three dozen LOL! We hope to have beautiful weather, meet great people, and most of all HAVE FUN (we hope to cut up with our new friends of Joey Biscotti)! So come and visit us and stay tuned for our live twitter coverage and pictures of the event!
